Beyond the Manosphere: Youth Work Responses to Masculinity and Radicalisation

An international learning experience on masculinity, online communities and radicalisation in youth work

Learning, experiencing and creating together

Throughout the training course, we explored emerging dynamics affecting young people in the digital world, the influence of online communities and processes of radicalisation from a youth work perspective.

During the programme, we:

• Explored online communities in the digital world and their impact on young people.
• Examined processes of radicalisation and factors that may influence them.
• Took part in practical activities focusing on critical thinking and media literacy.
• Experienced methods for building safe communication with young people and developing dialogue around challenging topics.
• Developed interactive methods and practical tools that can be used in youth work.

Different countries, different experiences, shared learning

Sharing our experiences with participants from different countries, discovering different perspectives and learning together was a valuable experience for us.

The international learning environment provided a space to approach issues encountered in youth work from different social and cultural contexts and to exchange knowledge, methods and experiences.
