With her family’s sacrifices, her own dedication, and the fully funded education she received, Berra has taken important steps in science, technology, and entrepreneurship. She aims to develop AI-powered biosensors and accessible diagnostic technologies to create solutions for global public health challenges.

Berra’s Story
Berra Eylül Toprak continued her education at SEV American College on a full scholarship and is graduating this year. Thanks to her interest in science and her passion for research, she began working in the field of genetics at a young age and had the opportunity to present a genetics research project at the University of Cambridge.
Now 18 years old, Berra stands out not only for her academic achievements but also for her entrepreneurial mindset. Through her initiative focused on developing AI-powered biosensors, she is working on fast, accessible, and effective diagnostic technologies.
Berra’s Work and Vision
According to the information Berra shared, throughout high school she measured academic success not only through grades, but also through the value she created and the social benefit she produced. Her work in science, technology, sustainability, and public health makes her journey to UC Berkeley even more meaningful.
Academic Achievement
She completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program with a full score of 45/45 and was accepted to UC Berkeley’s Bioengineering Undergraduate Program.
Scientific Research
Through her research in genomics, she had the opportunity to represent Türkiye at the University of Cambridge.
Social Benefit and Innovation
She carried out work in sustainability through a device she designed and patented to protect marine life from plastic waste.
Youth Leadership
She works on public health-focused initiatives as the Marmara Region representative on the UNICEF Youth Leadership Council.
Berra’s goal is to receive training in the world’s leading laboratories, develop innovative solutions in bioengineering and public health, and contribute to her country with the knowledge and experience she gains.
Why Are We Supporting Her?
Berra has been accepted to UC Berkeley. However, for her to begin this education, the required first-year financial commitment needs to be completed. This support will not only help Berra start her university education; it will also help place her vision in science, technology, and entrepreneurship on a stronger foundation.

How Will Your Donation Be Used?
- It will be used for Berra Eylül Toprak’s first-year educational expenses at UC Berkeley.
- After the 1% expense allocation for payment infrastructure and bank/transaction commissions, the collected donations will be transferred to support Berra’s education process.
- Depending on the requirements of the process, the payment may be made directly to the school or transferred to Berra so that the educational payment can be completed.
- The donation process and transfer steps will be followed by Yücel Cultural Foundation.
