At Yücel Cultural Foundation, we value creating opportunities for young people to encounter different forms of theatre, reflect on the stories presented on stage, and share cultural experiences together. This time, Culture Hunters brings us together for “Yıldız Artıkları”, a production that playfully challenges the boundaries of a classic story.
“In a parallel universe, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth got divorced.” Starting from this unexpected premise, the play transports Shakespeare’s unforgettable characters into a world where the rules of time and reality have completely changed.
Lady Macbeth, now 332 years old, is trapped in one of the parallel universes together with Macbeth, who is 314 years old, appears to be 50, yet is considered 13 within the strange logic of their current timeline.
As Lady Macbeth is forced to give birth to Macbeth again, and again, and again, this unusual universe turns into an absurd exploration of relationships, time, the inability to leave the past behind, and the cycles we repeatedly find ourselves caught in.
“Yıldız Artıkları” turns the familiar world of Macbeth upside down and leaves its audience with a playful but thought-provoking question: who among us has never been trapped in a loop of time?
