Istanbul International Improvised Dance Festival, which we will organize with the independent artist initiative ImproDanceFest on June 10-19, 2022, has taken its place among the projects that the Culture and Arts Fund will support in 2021!

The city is ready to dance with "Istanbul International Improvised Dance Festival"! This year, with the theme of "Empty Space" and hosted by IBB Department of Culture between June 10-19, 2022, the festival will bring together dance artists from many countries of the world and young dancers and dance producers from Turkey on the same platform! Starting on Friday, June 10, 2022 with performances in the foyer and main stage of Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall, the festival will continue until June 19 in the open and closed areas of Museum Gazhane, IBB City Theaters Museum Gazhane Square Stage, IBB City Lines, Akbank Sanat, Arter, Hope Alkazar. Hosted by IBB Department of Culture, with the support of Yücel Cultural Foundation, Support Foundation for Civil Society, Turkey Mosaic Foundation, Culture and Arts Fund and Goethe-Institut Istanbul, this year's theme "Empty Space" is inspired by the concept of The Empty Space as conceptualized by director Peter Brook. Focusing on the reconstruction of dance in the empty spaces of the city and the construction of new connections between people through movement, the festival aims to bring together all dance lovers with site-specific performances designed for public spaces on both sides of Istanbul, workshops in level dance spaces, experience spaces, free workshops for individuals of all ages and walks of life.
More than 180 artists from South Korea, Italy, Greece, Egypt, France, Germany, Brazil, Brazil, Switzerland, Hungary, Hungary, England, Macedonia, Spain, Turkey, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Turkey, Denmark, Sweden and Austria applied to the open call in the categories of performance, workshop and dance films for the festival, which includes artists from many different cultures of the world as well as invited artists.
