The Youth Advisory Board is a participatory structure that brings young people’s ideas, needs, and suggestions directly into the organization’s decision-making processes.

This board positions young people not only as beneficiaries, but also as active contributors who produce ideas, provide feedback, and help shape direction. It aims to enable young people to actively contribute to program design and strengthen the foundation’s youth work with a more inclusive perspective.

Based on volunteering, this structure brings young people together regularly to generate ideas, provide feedback, and develop new projects.

Purpose of the Board

The Youth Advisory Board aims to strengthen the foundation’s youth initiatives through the experiences, expectations, and ideas of young people.

How Does It Work?

The board operates on a voluntary basis and progresses through regular meetings, working groups, project development processes, and feedback mechanisms.

  • Member structure: Consists of young people aged 16–30, selected through open calls with attention to diversity.
  • Meetings: Monthly meetings are held, with additional project-based gatherings when needed.
  • Roles and responsibilities: Members generate ideas for foundation projects, evaluate existing programs, and communicate youth needs.
  • Working method: Workshops, brainstorming sessions, small working groups, and project development processes.
  • Mentorship: Peer learning and mentorship are encouraged.

Membership Process

The Youth Advisory Board is designed as a sustainable structure with defined terms and a strong emphasis on knowledge and experience sharing.

  • Membership duration: Typically between 6 months and 1 year
  • End of term: Evaluations are conducted and new members are selected
  • Knowledge transfer: Former members may take on mentorship roles
