What Was the Someone Hears Your Voice Scholarship Programme?
Education Support for Students Affected by the Earthquakes
The programme was created to support students affected by the 6 February 2023 earthquakes in continuing their education.
Under the donation-funded programme, eligible students received non-repayable scholarship support.
Who Was Eligible to Apply?
Education and Regional Eligibility
Primary, secondary and higher education students living or studying in the following 11 provinces affected by the earthquakes were eligible to apply:
- Adana
- Adıyaman
- Diyarbakır
- Elazığ
- Gaziantep
- Hatay
- Kahramanmaraş
- Kilis
- Malatya
- Osmaniye
- Şanlıurfa

These conditions applied only to the Someone Hears Your Voice Scholarship Programme carried out in 2023 and do not apply to current scholarship programmes.
How Were Applications Submitted?
Online Application through bursverenler.org
- Account Registration
Applicants created a user account through bursverenler.org. - Selection of Education Level
Applicants selected the appropriate option from primary education, secondary education, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral study. - Form Completion and Document Upload
The application form was completed and the required documents were uploaded to the system. - Programme Selection
The free application was completed by selecting the Someone Hears Your Voice Scholarship Programme on the scholarship selection screen.
At the application stage, documents did not need to be sent separately by post or email. Additional verification documents could be requested after the scholarship was confirmed.

How Were Applications Assessed?
Scoring, Document and Committee Review
Applications were reviewed according to the programme criteria set by the Board of Trustees and the bursverenler.org assessment system.
The Scholarship Committee reviewed applicants’ assessment scores, the information in their application forms and the suitability of the uploaded documents.
Missing documents, unverifiable information or false statements could lead to exclusion from assessment or termination of support that had already begun.
When Did the Scholarship Begin?
Donation Funding and Applicant Matching
The programme did not have a fixed collective results announcement date. New scholarships were matched with eligible applicants as donation funding became available.
“Your Information Has Been Verified” Did Not Guarantee a Scholarship
This status showed that the applicant was eligible for assessment. The required donation funding had to be secured and the matching process completed before the scholarship could begin.
When a scholarship was awarded, the applicant’s status in the system was updated and a notification was sent to the registered email address.
What Documents Were Required?
Documents Uploaded According to Education Level
- Current student certificate.
- Current proof of residence.
- Transcript for higher education students.
- Grade report for secondary education students.
Additional information or documents could be requested from applicants depending on assessment and verification needs.
